Considered one of the greatest safeties in the history of University of Hawaii football his speed, quickness, strength and athleticism earned him the feared and notorious reputation for hard hitting, fundamentally sound, and overall dominating defensive play. Leonard came to Velocity Carlsbad in 2007 to train for the NFL Combine and was subsequently picked up as a free agent by the New York Jets organization.
