WHAT: Along with Bill Welle of Velocity Sports Performance – Champlin, Larry Fitzgerald, Jr. will host his first Fitz “How Do You Train?” Challenge for several current NFL and college players on Monday, July 13th thru Wednesday, July 15th from 9-11am at the TCF Bank Stadium at the University of Minnesota campus. The purpose of this event is to introduce some of Larry’s peers to his off-season training regimen and what has helped him achieve All-Pro status in the NFL. On the field workouts will consist of speed, power, and agility drills, while the off the field workouts will include strength training, discussions around proper route running and mental preparation, as well as game film review.
The training session will be led by Velocity Sports Performance Executive Performance Coach, Bill Welle. Welle has trained Fitzgerald, Jr. since he was a junior at the Holy Angels Academy. Bill has his master’s degree in Exercise Physiology, and is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist at Velocity Sports Performance in Champlin. Former Vikings All-Pro wide receiver Cris Carter will also be on hand to share his expertise on route running what it takes to be the best.
WHO: Larry Fitzgerald, Jr. – All-Pro Wide Receiver of the Arizona Cardinals and a number of other current NFL players. As many of you already know, Fitzgerald, Jr. grew up in the 48th & Portland neighborhood of Minneapolis. He attended high school at Holy Angels Academy and went on to play football and study at the University of Pittsburgh before reaching stardom with the Arizona Cardinals.

The media will have the opportunity to interview and take photos of Larry Fitzgerald, Jr.as well as the other players involved.

*A shuttle will leave the parking lot behind the stands at the U of M Track & Field Stadium at 8:45am. You must be on the shuttle to be allowed to enter TCF stadium.
